Catering Course Overview
This training course is designed to progress learners into the catering/hospitality industry; working in restaurants, hotels, delis, cafes by introducing learners to subject areas such as menu planning, breakfast cookery, pastry, baking, food nutrition and healthy options as well as career preparation and work practice in the hotel, restaurant, catering and hospitality sector.
Learners will acquire the appropriate skills to gain employment in the industry where they can also use the course as a stepping stone towards further training if they have the potential and drive to become qualified chefs.
As part of this training course, learners will prepare breakfast and lunch each day for all participants in the training centre to simulate working in a restaurant/hotel environment. You will also receive food hygiene training as well as a knowledge of the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Training in the kitchen will require you to wear chef uniform as part of your personal protective equipment which will be provided by the training centre.
