Beauty Specialist Course Overview
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
This beauty course has been specifically designed for the 16-21 age group, and will develop the knowledge skills to prepare learners for employment as a junior beautician/beauty specialist. Learners will have their beauty therapy skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.
To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from a range of practical units.
A manicure consists of filing and shaping the free edge, pushing and clipping any nonliving tissue, treatments with various liquids, massage of the hand, and the application of fingernail polish.
Pedicures include care not only for the toenails; dead skin cells are rubbed off the bottom of the feet using a rough stone.
This module will give you a clear understanding in techniques used for skin cleansing, moisturising and exfoliation and how to correctly apply these techniques to achieve optimal skin care.
This Lash & Brow Treatments module gives an understanding of eyebrow shaping and tinting as well as the application of strip and flare lashes.
In this module, you will learn the steps and procedures required in order to select the correct tone for the client, correct application of tan and provision of after-care instructions for a client.
In this module, you will learn which makeup application techniques work best for creating wonderful new makeup looks that range from natural to striking. Makeup secrets can help you apply makeup quickly and make revisions to your application techniques easily.
